What This Privacy Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Doggi iOS application and any related services offered by Doggi. It does not apply to:

• Personal information collected or used by third-party services when you click on links within the app. Please refer to each third party's own privacy policy for information about their practices.

• Personal information Doggi may collect in other contexts, such as from job applicants or business partners, which is governed by separate policies or agreements.

Doggi's Approach to Privacy

Doggi takes your privacy seriously. We have internal policies and practices designed to keep your personal information secure and to ensure that it is only used in ways consistent with this Privacy Policy. When building features and products, we strive to apply principles of privacy-by-design, and we are committed to ensuring that your personal information is handled properly and with care.

The Personal Information We Collect

The specific information we collect depends on how you use Doggi. We may collect the following categories of personal information:

Information You Provide Directly

Account Information: Your name, email address, username, and password when you register for an account.

Dog Profile Information: Your dog's name, breed, age, size, temperament, play style, and any other details you choose to share on your dog's profile.

Profile Photos and Videos: Photos and videos of your dog(s) that you upload to your profile or share within the app.

Payment Information: If you subscribe to a premium tier, billing details are collected through our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our servers.

User-Generated Content: Messages, comments, reviews, and other content you post or send within the app.

Communications: Records of any correspondence if you contact our support team.

Information Collected Automatically

Location Data: With your permission, we collect precise GPS location to help you find nearby dog owners and plan play dates. You may disable location access at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Doggi.

Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

Usage Data: Features you use, searches you conduct, time spent in the app, and interaction logs.

Log Data: IP address, app crash reports, and diagnostic data.

Tracking Technologies: We and our service providers may use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies to analyze trends and improve the app experience.

Information from Third Parties

If you sign in using Apple Sign-In or another third-party authentication provider, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email address) consistent with your privacy settings on that platform. We may also receive information from analytics and advertising partners to help us understand how users interact with Doggi.

How We Use Your Information

In this section we explain the purposes for which Doggi uses personal information. We may rely on a combination of automated processing and human review to achieve these purposes.

To Provide Our Services: We use your information to create and manage your account and dog profile, match you with compatible nearby dog owners, and facilitate the planning of dog play dates.

To Process Payments: We use billing information to process subscriptions and purchases made within the app.

To Send Notifications: We send push notifications about new matches, incoming messages, play date reminders, and app updates, subject to your notification preferences.

To Improve and Develop: We analyze usage data to improve existing features, develop new ones, and personalize your experience within the app.

To Communicate With You: We respond to support requests and send you account-related communications and, where permitted, promotional messages.

To Ensure Safety and Security: We detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, policy violations, and other harmful or illegal activity.

To Comply With Legal Obligations: We use and retain information as required to meet our legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations and to enforce our Terms of Service.

How We Share Your Information

Doggi does not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

With Other Doggi Users

Information you add to your public dog profile — such as your dog's name, photos, breed, temperament, and general area — is visible to other users. Your precise GPS coordinates are never shared directly with other users; we display only neighborhood-level or approximate proximity.

With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate Doggi, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors, analytics services, customer support platforms, and push notification services. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may only use it to perform services on our behalf.

For Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Doggi, our users, or the public; or to detect, prevent, or address fraud or security vulnerabilities.

In Connection With a Business Transfer

If Doggi is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

With Your Consent

We may share your information with additional third parties when you have explicitly consented to such sharing.

In Aggregated or De-Identified Form

We may share aggregated or de-identified information — which cannot reasonably be used to identify you — with partners, researchers, or the public for analytical or research purposes.

Location Data

Doggi's core features depend on location services to connect you with nearby dog owners. We collect location data only while the app is in use (foreground) unless you separately grant "Always On" location permission for specific features such as background play-date reminders.

You can revoke location permissions at any time via iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Doggi. Revoking access will limit the ability to find nearby matches but will not affect your account. We do not sell your precise location data to advertisers or other third parties.

Photos and Videos

Photos and videos you upload are stored securely on our servers and used solely to display your dog's profile to other Doggi users. We do not use your photos or videos to train third-party artificial intelligence models without your explicit consent. You retain ownership of the content you upload; however, by uploading it you grant Doggi a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the app consistent with your privacy settings.

You may delete photos or videos from your profile at any time through the app.

Payment Information

All payment transactions are processed by a PCI-DSS-compliant third-party payment processor (such as Stripe or Apple In-App Purchase). We receive only a tokenized representation of your payment method and limited transaction details such as the transaction amount, date, and last four digits of your card. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or bank account information on our servers.

Subscription renewals, cancellations, and refund requests for purchases made through the Apple App Store are governed by Apple's billing terms. For questions about direct subscriptions, please contact us at support@doggi.app.

Push Notifications

We may send push notifications to your device about new compatible dog matches, incoming messages, play date confirmations, and app updates. When you first install Doggi, you will be asked to grant notification permissions. You may withdraw this permission at any time via iPhone Settings > Notifications > Doggi.

Disabling push notifications will not affect your account or delete your data, but you may miss time-sensitive information related to play dates or messages.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law, regulation, tax obligations, or for fraud-prevention purposes. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained indefinitely.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

• Right to Correct: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

• Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.

• Right to Portability: Request that we provide your information in a structured, machine-readable format.

• Right to Opt-Out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages, or by contacting us directly.

• Right to Restrict or Object: Request that we restrict or cease certain processing of your data.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for which we collected it, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it.

Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights under California law.

To submit a California privacy rights request, contact us at support@doggi.app or use the Privacy Settings menu within the app. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, provided the agent can verify their authority to act for you.

Age Requirement

Doggi is intended for adults only. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the app. By registering, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and promptly delete their information. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, please notify us at support@doggi.app.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security assessments.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly of any unauthorized account access.

Third-Party Links and Services

The Doggi app may contain links to third-party websites or services such as dog parks, veterinary resources, or social media platforms. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third parties you interact with through or outside the app.

International Users

Doggi is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the United States and choose to use our app, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Data protection laws in the United States may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using Doggi, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app, by email, or by updating the Effective Date at the top of this document. Your continued use of Doggi after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
